Egnyte allows you to synchronise a folder, or set of folders, for offline access. When you lose Internet access you will still see these sets of folders, and when you connect to the server again your files will be uploaded, and any new files will be downloaded.
WORD TO THE WISE; if you do this, do NOT synchronise entire client folders, as you'll fill your hard drive up. Instead, synchronise project folders that you're working on only. When you're done, remove the files from your machine to free up space.
Synchronising a Folder for Offline Access:
- Right click on any folder you want to synchronise
- Click on the Egnyte "Sync folder for offline access" option - this will start downloading the folder to your machine
Removing a Folder That's Synchronised:
- Right click on a folder you've synchronised for offline access already
- Select "Sync for offline access" again, this will remove the folder from your machine
Alternatively...
- Left click on the Egnyte icon in your taskbar (bottom right)
- Select "Offline Folders", this will show all the folders on your machine
- Select any folder or folders you want to remove, and select "Remove Selected"
